The
woodlands of Glasgow have the capacity to deliver social, environmental and
economic benefits to the City and its citizens. The Woodland Unit aims to
maximise these benefits for both existing and future generations, by facilitating
the creation of a sustainable and accessible City wide woodland resource.
The City Woodland
Unit is engaged in:

with woodland owners to bring woodlands under management
- Working
with partners to bring more funding into Glasgow's woodlands
- Increase
the involvement of citizens in the management of their woodlands
- Provide
accessible woodlands
- Increase
the biodiversity of woodlands
- Increase
the utilisation of timber from Glasgow's woodlands
- Promote
the health benefits of Glasgow's woodlands
- Promote
the environmental education opportunities of Glasgow's woodlands
